The Room Booking System Configurator is an application that allows you to control the network settings of your Room Booking System device as well as acquire certain information from it.

So, what can the Room Booking System Configurator do? It allows you to:
- Connect a device to a Wi-Fi network
- Connect a device to a server
- Provide the device’s serial number
- Acquire the device’s log file
- Reboot your device
Connect a device to a Wi-Fi network
Before pairing a device to your Room Booking System Web Portal account, you will first need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
This network must meet certain requirements in order for the device to operate to its full capabilities. Click here to what out what those are.

Connect a device to a server
The Room Booking System comprises of three components - a device, the Room Booking System Web Portal, and the Visionect Software Suite (VSS) server.
The VSS server acts as an intermediary between Room Booking System devices and the preferred calendar solution, making sure your devices are working properly and displaying the correct calendar information on displays of connected Room Booking devices.
Thus, it is crucial to connect your Room Booking System device to a server in order for it to function. Detailed instructions on how to connect your Room Booking System device to a server can be found here.

Provide the device’s serial number
Each Room Booking System device has a Universally Unique identifier (UUID) or serial number.
This number is visible on the packaging of the device denoted by the abbreviation S/N as well as in the Room Booking System Configurator once the device is connected.
With it, the device can easily be located on a server (in the cloud or on-premises) and monitored for performance (battery life, Wi-Fi signal strength, etc.).

Acquire the device’s log file
Each Room Booking System device keeps a log file throughout its operation containing information related to the device's hardware, firmware, and settings and may provide great insight in cases where the device is not operating to its full capabilities.

Important note: Room Booking System devices do not keep any of your personal or calendar information stored in the log file. Only device-related data is tracked.

Reboot your device
Mistakes and hiccups in the Room Booking System's operation may happen. In such cases, a simple reboot of the device will refresh all the settings and resolve any issues automatically.
